Well here we are in Bangkok, after one grueling trip over. We found our hotel okay, after some slight directional and monetary complications.we then spent the night doing the fish on shore in the bed and are doing one hell of a job keeping are wits about us despite the jet lag.
Today has taken us on an adventure to find the cambodian embassy, which to our frustration has moved to further out of town. We then packed in our hunt for the embassy, to seek cooler air in the world center mall for a bit of reprieve from the sweltering heat. We then took a tuktuk ride to the khoa san road area and booked ourselves into a quest house out of the mayhem for the next couple of days.
The afternoon will be spent wondering around in amazement at the sights, sounds and smells of this bustling crazy city. And continuing to get rid of our jet lag. It is currently 4:30 pm and we haven't really slept yet
pictures will come soon!!!
Got your email... you made our day. Glad to hear you both made it there in one piece. :):):)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have embarked on an adventure of a lifetime...
We are excited for you.
bridey sent an email from yahoo, but i thought i would add to the blog. sounds like it is super hot and muggy. no doubt you will adjust but great that you could get into air and conditioned environment. in bridey's email she spoke of the challenges and lessons during those first few days. we were remembering our first night in hania in crete when i paid triple the price for a 6 pack to an old granny. boy did she ever see a tourist coming. it was good beer and it was cold...it to was a super hot night and we had just come off the plane. good plan to get yourself into a guest house for a few days. i am sure that all five of your senses are on overload! hope you get some good sleep over the next couple of nights...use some gravol! take care of each other and hold on to each other. love and hugs - and of course our prayers too!

ReplyDeleteHey Charissa and Kieran!
ReplyDeleteJust checked your blog... great to hear you have landed. It has been a few days, so I'm sure you are now getting into the swing of things. Victoria is still in super early spring mode and we are not complaining. The Olympics are coming very soon and all of Vancouver is going crazy! (I am a bit of an Olympic junkie, I'm afraid.) Briana, our daughter is volunteering, so am hoping to live through her experience vicariously! Take care of yourselves and enjoy the adventure(s). We are all thinking of you
